Tent City at Tambo

Sendong destroyed hundreds of homes, consequently affected more than 17,000 families in Iligan City.

Several NGOs have sent in their help, one of which is this Shelter Box, basically a tent for a family of six people. This temporary home is provided by the Rotary Club International.

The vacant lot at Tambo Bus Terminal has about 123 tents.

The partially visible flags are of Rotary Club and AFP’s Engineers.

I never went nearer to shoot the interiors as I had little time.

I heard on tv that the tents are now owned by the Sendong affected families. The families can give or even sell the tent.
